Registration is up for the Proteoglycan Gordon Conference held every other year. This is a great meeting to learn all about PGs and glycosaminoglycans

Application Deadline: Applications for this meeting must be submitted by June 15, 2008.

Please apply early, as some conferences become oversubscribed (full) before this deadline. If the conference is oversubscribed, it will be stated here. You will still be able to submit your application. However, it will only be considered by the Conference Chair if there are cancellations, making more seats available.

The major purpose of this meeting will be to bring together scientists from around the world working in the area of proteoglycan research to present and discuss their most recent findings in each of nine (9) sessions which will include sessions on the biosynthesis, structure, interactions, and degradation of these molecules. These sessions will be complemented with other sessions designed to address how these molecules contribute to events fundamental to development and disease. Our goal will be to promote a further understanding of the role these molecules play in various aspects of human development and in pathologic events connected to inflammation and immunity. Specific sessions in this area will include involvement of proteoglycans in diseases of the musculoskeletal system, nervous system, vascular and lung systems, and cancer. A final session on current developments on the use of proteoglycans as therapeutics in the clinic is planned.

.........................
"To those who would tear the world down: We will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security: We support you. And to all those who have wondered if America's beacon still burns as bright: Tonight, we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity and unyielding hope." -- Barack Obama, Nov. 4, 2008
