Can anybody recommend the best I have immunostained brain slices (40 um thick)
what antifade kit can you recommend for mounting any kits, any recipes
I used prolong antifade..

Depending on how you are going to visualize it different media might bee needed. For general microscopy Vectashield is great. However, there might be some trouble if you are using a confocal. If you get trouble you can try prolongGold (Invitrogen). I have used both and I think that ProlongGold is a better alternative, but I'm mainly using a confocal.

Prolong Gold is great for confocal and "cements" (no nail polish!), so if you are using only tissues, its great (bad for filters/matrices etc that can have mistaken orientation). The bad bit is that its expensive. A cheaper alternative is the FluorSave reagent from Calbiochem. VectaShield liquid formulation (Vector Labs) works pretty well, but i was quite disappointed with the "cementing" version.
