Postdoc in Experimental Biophysics

We seek to hire a postdoctoral research associate to experimentally study artificial molecular motors. This position will be based at the University of Oregon, and will be part of a collaboration funded by the Human Frontier Science Program, involving also the University of New South Wales in Sydney (Prof. P. Curmi), Bristol University (Prof. Dek Woolfson), and Simon Fraser University in Vancouver (Prof. Nancy Forde and Prof. Martin Zuckermann). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in personnel exchanges with one or more of these collaborators. The Linke group at the University of Oregon is associated with the Materials Science Institute, the Institute of Molecular Biology, and the Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute (ONAMI).

Required are a PhD in biophysics or in a related field, and practical expertise in one or more of the following areas: micro- or nanofluidics, DNA biophysics, protein-DNA interactions, protein-surface interactions, single-molecule mechanics. The initial period is for one year starting as soon as possible with renewal for one to two years possible thereafter.
