The Department of Animal and Veterinary Science is seeking a Dairy Nutritionist at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position is an academic year, tenure track position with a 75% research - 25% teaching appointment.

Research responsibilities require the development of an innovative program in dairy nutrition. Areas of investigation may include, but would not be limited to, metabolic responses to dietary protein and/or energy modifications, nutrient partitioning, nutrient management, and associated influences on digestive function and mineral status.

Cooperative research within the department, university and outreach as well as with the dairy industry is required.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong graduate student training program and to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

QUALIFICATIONS: At the time of first employment the successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Dairy Science, Animal Science, or related Biological Science with an emphasis on dairy cattle. Postdoctoral training is preferred. The ability and willingness to work with university colleagues and the dairy industry in Idaho and nationally are essential.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include university holidays, sick leave, standard state life and health insurance, and retirement options including TIAA-CREF and AIG-VALIC.
