Job Title: Production Manager
Description: Vandalia Research, Inc. of Huntington, West Virginia is a startup biomanufacturing company focusing on large-scale DNA production. Vandalia also places strong emphasis on research and development directed to specific market needs, with the objective of commercializing novel biotechnology instrumentation and advanced biotechnology manufacturing techniques.

Vandalia's flagship technology is the Triathlon, an innovative system and process (patent pending) for the mass production of specific DNA sequences with the polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Manager will be primarily responsible for management of DNA manufacturing processes. This includes working with customers to determine product specifications, optimizing the product for scale-up, producing trial runs for customers, producing the products, performing QA/QC, and following up with the customer to determine that specifications were met. Additionally, the Production Manager will be expected to continuously improve production processes, including writing protocols and standard operating procedures, to increase productivity, efficiency, and overall product quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a seasoned industrial scientist with management experience. This person should have a high energy level, be hard working, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and extensive PCR experience.

SPECIFIC REQUIRMENTS:
Ph.D. or M.S. in biology, biochemistry, or related field.
Extensive PCR experience with multiple platforms.
3+ years management experience.
Strong computer and technical skills.
