This position is located in West Paoli, PA

Qualifications:
BS/MS in biochemistry, biochemical engineering or related field. Strong technical background in downstream processing of vaccines or proteins. Excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to troubleshoot bioprocesses, and the ability to work in a team environment. Working experience with industrial biopharmaceutical purification. Hands on in experience with chromatography and filtration. Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, DoE and PAT a plus

Responsibilities:
Virology within Viral Vaccine Technology and Engineering (VVTE) is looking for highly motivated scientists/engineers to support targeted manufacturing and compliance initiatives for Viral Vaccine Manufacturing. Viral VTE provides technical support for the manufacture of Merck s cell-culture based vaccines: VARIVAX (Chicken Pox Vaccine), M-M-RII (Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine), AQTA (Hepatitis A Vaccine), ZOSTAVAX (Shingles Vaccine) and ROTATEQ (Rotavirus Vaccine). Individuals will be providing technical support to a licensed and/or new vaccine area, including analysis of process- derived data to support trouble-shooting, and help with technical investigations. Primary responsibilities for the positions include: working under supervision/guidance to support scale down models of the downstream processing of vaccines. Assistance with investigation of technical issues associated with vaccine manufacture.
