Hallo!

Im doing patch-clamp wholle cell recordings and I want to know what means the resistance series. Even I adjust it, I dont know exactly what it means. Many times, during the experiments, after get the wholle cell, it changes alone, is it bad? how can i keep it more stable?

Thanks!

For a quick answer, get this book from your library or buy it for yourself

http://www.amazon.com/Patch-Clamping-Introductory-Guide-Electrophysiology/dp/047148685X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1196808040&sr=8-2

# ISBN-10: 047148685X
# ISBN-13: 978-0471486855

As you appear to be a beginner it will answer a lot of most basic questions.

Once you've grasped the basics also study
Ion Channels of Excitable Membranes (3rd Edition) by Bertil Hille

I will return to give you a more detailed answer when i get a little more time

Thanks
