Does any one have a good protocol to isolate RNA from bone? Right now I am using the Pulverizor and Trizol.

I never extracted RNA from bone, but with all other tissues I had excellent resutls with Stratagene's Absolutely kits. They are faster, and work much better than Trizol for pretty much everything from qPCR to arrays to clonning.

I am of little help but if you contact Dr Krane's group (S Krane, Center for Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases, Department of Medicine, Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, Building 149, 13th Street, Room 8301, Boston, MA 02129, USA.) you may find some help. I know they routinely extract very high quality RNA from bone

I am extracting from bone not bone marrow. I noticed most of the protocols talk about bone but in fact they have bone marrown in the bone.

have you seen problems with the RNA extracted with trizol not being reliable with qpcr? |
