Hi,
I've been working with L6 cells for about 2 years now. A week ago I've noticed some white spots on my flask. I thought that the media was bad so I started a new bottle. I also noticed then when I use trypsin to detach the cells from flask they detach very fast like big pieces . This did not happen before. I also notice a similar situation on my coworkers flasks.
Any ideas?

Thanks a lot,
SIlvana

Are the white spots some form of contamination or the result of clumps of cells detaching and re-attaching on top of other cells? If your colleages are using different cell types and not sharing your media then I would check your incubator. Were all the "white spot" flasks in the same incubator?

We all use same type of cells (L6) and same incubator. We do not share the medium.

That's a very good question. I am not sure whta to answer. They might be cells on on top of the other, but that it's weird though. The cells are well taking care of. I would rather go for contamination.
