Initiative Brings DECHEMA Exhibitor Delegate to Innovation AveNEW at LabAutomation2008, Jan. 26-30, 2008, Palm Springs, CA, USA And Brings Top ALA Speakers from LabAutomation2009 to ACHEMA 2009, May 11-15, 2009, Frankfurt, Germany

CHICAGO The Association for Laboratory Automation (ALA) is extremely pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with DECHEMA The Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology of Frankfurt, Germany, uniting the two scientific organizations around ALAs world-renowned LabAutomation conference speaker and exhibitor programs.

According to ALA President Reinhold Schfer, Fachhochschule Wiesbaden, Germany strategically aligning with DECHEMA helps both organizations deliver on their educational and business objectives. Our mission is simple, said Schfer. We want to offer maximum opportunities for continuing education and business development on a global basis for laboratory automation and technology. By working with DECHEMA, we now will be better able to communicate and connect with scientists and leading-edge companies in Europe and around the world.

At LabAutomation2008, DECHEMA will take part in ALAs Innovation AveNEW program by providing one exhibitor delegate. Innovation AveNEW is an in-kind, cost-sensitive program affording emerging, start-up companies the opportunity to actively engage and participate in a world-class event that helps to grow and scale their businesses and directly connects them as exhibitors with purchase influencers and decision-makers from more than 40 countries. Only eight start-up companies are selected to participate in Innovation AveNEW at LabAutomation2008, inclusive of the DECHEMA Exhibitor Delegate. DECHEMA also will participate in the $10,000 ALA Innovation Award Program at LabAutomation2009, which recognizes outstanding oral presentations. The LabAutomation2009 Innovation Award finalists, as determined by the ALA Judges Panel, will travel to Frankfurt, Germany, May 11-15, 2009 to present their work at ACHEMA 2009. Expenses for the finalists to present at ACHEMA 2009 will be paid for by ALA and DECHEMA. Watch for more information on this exciting speaking opportunity in the near future.

DECHEMA Chief Executive Officer Gerhard Kreysa believes the partnership with ALA is an excellent opportunity to help bring exposure to Europes burgeoning biotechnology industry. We believe participating with ALA on such high-caliber programs is critical for ongoing learning and business
development both here in Germany and abroad. With the support and involvement of our two organizations, we anticipate the programs will be an immediate success.
