I hope there is someone who can help me with a question about an article.

Article

I am a medical student from Holland trying to comprehend the genetics of Bipolar disorder.

My question is in regard to the Bipolar Disorder GSMA study (2003) and more specifically it's about the Bins the genome is divided in.

I would very much like to know how to correlate a cytogenetic location to a Bin in a correct manner, is there an easy conversion table with de Ch-band range per Bin..?

I thought about comparing the distal (Bin) marker Bp position with the Bp position of a gene of interest, but that doesn't seem to be the right and most accurate method, nor I can find a Ch-band table with the correct Mfd (cM) value per location.

I hope you will be so kind to help me with this quite practical problem, or point me in a direction..?

Thank you so much in advance...!!!

Yours sincerely,

Adriaan Terwindt
