RNA UK 2008
18 - 20 January 2008
The 2008 RNA-UK meeting will take place at the Burnside Hotel (link), Lake District, UK. The meeting will focus on the areas of RNA processing, RNA stability and RNA-mediated gene regulation. Together these are widely recognised as one of the most exciting new areas in biology. This meeting, which has taken place biannually since 1990, will follow the same successful format as previously, concentrating on cutting edge work presented by junior researchers in short talks chosen from submitted abstracts. The meeting will also include 3 plenary talks given by young leaders in their field. Informal discussions will be promoted by the relaxed atmosphere and the traditional afternoon hill walk.
The themes to be covered include: alternative splicing, constitutive splicing, P-bodies and translational control, RNA editing, RNA transport, RNA stability, connections between transcription and RNA processing, ribosomal RNA processing, structural biology of RNAs and RNA-binding proteins, bioinformatics related to RNA and RNA-binding proteins, microRNAs/RNA interference and nonsense-mediated decay.
