A PI, post-doc and grad student are at a meeting in Florida when, during a walk on the beach discussing the meeting, they stumble upon a bottle in the sand. The post-doc picks it up, rubs it lightly when to their surprise a genie appears. The genie, which normally grants its master 3 wishes, states it will grant 1 wish to each of them. The grad student, disgusted with her recent failures in the lab, the long hours and meager rewards wishes she was in law school like her mother desired. With a puff of smoke she disappears! The post-doc, recently married and expecting a child, regrets following his love of science due to difficulty in funding and low pay. Wanting to provide a better life for his young family his wish is to be a stock analyst on wall street. With a puff of smoke he also disappears. The PI then wishes them both back in the lab after the meeting!
