My lab is trying to decide between a Perkin Elmer ICP and a Thermo ICAP. Perkin Elmer seems to have better interference resolution whereas Thermo claims to have better sensitivity. I have worked with Perkin Elmer and I know they are great instruments. Can anyone comment on the performance of the Thermo ICAP?

We have been evaluating ICP's for a while and have a PE Optima in-house. Not to confuse the issue for your even more have you looked at Spectro? We had been considering the same as you and found the Spectro unit to be fairly impressive. We also liked the Varian unit (better than PE).

We haven't looked at Spectro or Varian. We looked at Leeman, Varian, Thermo, and PE. We had a consultant do all of the intial grunt work and she narrowed down the field to those four. Why did you prefer varian over Perkin Elmer?

Why don't you also try Agilent??
