A postdoctoral position is available for studying the innate cellular response during herpes simplex virus encephalitis (HSE), and specifically the role of macrophages and macrophage influence on other immune cells during acute stage infection in the CNS. Additional studies include beneficial versus detrimental host-pathogen interactions and novel strategies for identification of early mediators of HSE. The candidate should have a Ph.D. and advanced experience in immunology, virology or related field. Animal experience, such as adoptive transfers, CNS cell isolation and in vivo pathogen models, is highly desirable. There is no visa sponsorship available for this position. Salary will be commensurate with experience. To apply, send C.V., contact information for three references, and a brief summary of research experience and future interests by email to Dr. Patric Lundberg (plundberg@coh.org).
