I found an interesting blurb in GEN that discusses an agreement between USDA and SeqWright to perform full length sequencing of 1,000 influenza genomes. This genetic information will be used to analyze "viral evolution and strain relationships". Hopefully, these efforts will bring us closer to developing a vaccine for the Avian Flu.
