Hi, can you please be more specific with what you are trying to do? do you want to use SEM or TEM or???

If you want to use SEM, your sample can not be live. You will need to 1. critical dry your sample 2. coat it in conductive material...usually sputtered gold. Not sure how big your shrimp is, but most SEMs only accomodate small samples of order 1cm^3.

If you want to image a live sample, there are many better options: optical coherence microscope, possibly confocal microscopy, fluorescence imaging. The best device for the job depends on your needs.

If you are at a university, try talking to the SEM tech.

Good luck!

Methods in Molecular Biology Volume 117
Electron Microscopy Methods and Protocols
Edited by M. A. Nasser Hajibagheri
