Pegasus Technical Services, Inc. (Pegasus), an environmental consulting firm in Cincinnati, Ohio, has a research position available for an Analytical Chemist to work full-time on a U.S. EPA-funded contract. Work will be performed primarily at the FDA Forensic Chemistry Center and EPA facilities.

The person in this position will develop methods for identification of biotoxins, such as Ricin and Botulinum, in environmental samples using Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS) and Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). Responsibilities include technical writing, laboratory analysis, sample preparation, data analysis and report writing. Preparation of Quality Assurance documents, health and safety plans, SOPs, and project status reports will also be required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field and at least three years of experience in biochemistry or protein chemistry. Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following is required: LC/MS, ELISA and related immunoassays, proteomic techniques such as mass spectrometry or 2D electrophoresis. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen with no prior felony convictions, be willing to work with select agents in appropriate personal protective equipment in BSL2/BSL3 laboratories, and participate in the Select Agent Program required safety training.
