I am almost sure that you have come across these autophagy markers from the literature, but just in case, here some of them are:

http://www.molbiolcell.org/cgi/content/abstract/15/3/1101?ijkey=4d430d9c06a63c88194cadc318bee8a9796ca280

"When we label autophagosomes with green fluorescent protein (GFP)-LC3, we are able to see them by fluorescence microscopy as ring-shaped structures (Mizushima et al., 2003Go), or dots in the case of small autophagosomes (Kabeya et al., 2000Go). Because autolysosomes have less LC3 on the membrane than autophagosomes, the fluorescent signal of autolysosomes is weaker. On the basis of these observations, we propose that LC3 could serve as a good molecular marker for isolation membranes, autophagosomes, and some autolysosomes (Kabeya et al., 2000Go)"

"we examined expression of an LGG-1::GFP protein, a marker for autophagosomal membranes (Melendez et al., 2003 and Roudier et al., 2005)"

"the cell death of late-stage nurse cells does not bear a resemblance to autophagy. We observed no evidence of autophagic vesicles in late-stage egg chambers expressing either the Atg5GFP or LC3GFP fusion proteins"

Hi Kumar,
Yes I know what I should use. I read the litrature, but I want to know if any one of our members have use a comercial Ab and it worked for him.
I found on the linscot directory that Novus got an LC3 Ab Rabb poly.
I am very corious if someone used it. Or if by any chance any scientist over here have a home made Ab?
Thanks
Guy
