Great webcomic. I met Jorge when he came to Madison and we hung out with a group of grad students before his talk. More than 300 people showed up for his very funny presentation on "The Power of Procrastination".

Amtekoth:

Are there many other lab or science related comics out there? I would imagine that it would become a close knit community.

To be honest, I haven't found many science webcomics out there that I like. I've been reading PhD for a couple of years now, and that features lab people some of the time. I read some gamer geek webcomics like Penny Arcade and Order of the Stick and Dork Tower. I also spend time online with horror writer Dirk Manley (a pen name), slice-of-life humor writer D.J. Coffman, and various comic creators at Digital Webbing.

I've been a guest at the Wizardcon comic book convention in Chicago. Having spent 15 years in Chicago, I know a lot of creators (and scientists) in that city.

Dinosaur comic is not a comic about lab people, or science, but it seems to be written with academic undertones (sometimes). Most of the time it is just plain fun.

Check out the archives.

The coolest thing about Dinosaur Comics is that Ryan North is a writer without an artist, so he uses the same exact clipart for every episode. Yet he tells a different joke or story every strip. And a lot of them are VERY funny.
