I'm looking to buy a Mac (iBook G4 from 2005) for use in protein crystallography based on the Unix platform. I have a Dell 8600 but I hear the crystallography software is cumbersome and not that well established for DOS/windows. Would anyone agree or disagree to the point where they would say not to buy the mac / unix based system? Thanks.
