I'm not sure you could distinguish it from other calcium carbonate.

No I guess there isnt away to distinguish it from other Calcium Carbonate. But you should be able to see Calcium Carbonate on sem.
Check it to make sure by using EPMA (electron Proble Micro Analysis)
