POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP - DROSOPHILA GENETICS - CHROMATIN. Seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral fellow with experience in Drosophila genetics to study the role of the H1 linker histone in chromatin structure, gene regulation and development in Drosophila. We are collaborating with Dr. Dmitry Fyodorov's lab to use genetic approaches in Drosophila that will complement our recent work on H1 histone gene inactivation in mice.

Fan, Y., et al. (2005). Depletion of histone H1 in mammals alters global chromatin structure but causes specific changes in gene regulation. Cell 123:1199-212.

Konishi, A., et al. (2003). Involvement of histone H1.2 in apoptosis induced by DNA double-strand breaks. Cell 114:673-88.
