I'm well aware of the ccr5 delta32 deletion in western europeans (due to the bubonic plague etc) which has shown to prevent HIV and AIDS in descendants with these haplotypes. My question is this: knowing that this deletion is primarily only found in european tribes, and it has now been found in the northwestern region of India, could this be attributed to european migration or is this just another random mutation. Does anyone know?
