Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Life Science field, along with a minimum of three to six years of relevant laboratory experience; or a Masters degree in a Life Science field, along with a minimum of zero to three years of relevant laboratory experience. Experienced in Molecular Biology laboratory techniques such as recombinant DNA cloning, PCR, bacterial expression and expression systems. Experienced in Computer skills (Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn additional software as needed).

Preferred qualifications:
Experience with the baculovirus expression system. Ability to work with minimal instruction. Effective verbal and written communication skills pertaining to research. Ability to learn, understand, and apply relevant scientific concepts. Self-motivated, effective problem-solving and scientific skills. Good inter-personal, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a molecular biologist to join our protein expression group in the Protein Science Department. The successful candidate will perform experiments, organize data, and analyze results for the purpose of supplying high quality recombinant proteins of interest in support of various research programs. This position entails cloning of expression constructs for the production of recombinant proteins in bacterial and insect cell host systems and then optimizing small and mid-scale protein expression. This role will allow one to design experimental procedures, analyze record, and report results. The successful candidate will maintain laboratory notebooks and computer files, participate in group and project meetings, attend and present at departmental seminars.
