Challenges in Computer Simulations:

Bridging the Time and Length Scales

CCS 2007

23-25 July 2007, Singapore

http://www.ccs2007.org/

Call for Abstracts

(Due by 28 February 2007)

Objectives
The primary objectives of the workshop are to:

Provide an international forum at which world leaders present and discuss critically the most recent advances in atomistic and mesoscale modeling and how to bridge the time and distance scale gap
Increase awareness both among disciplines and between experimentalists and simulators to encourage international cooperation and encourage joint programs
Assess industrial and government needs in strategic areas such as energy, climate change, and materials and manufacturing
Identify and prioritize a small number of "Grand Challenge" problems
Encourage teaming and networking at International level.

A group of international experts will give keynote addresses and lead discussion groups and breakout sessions. A workshop report will be published as well as a series of action items and individual follow up meetings to solidify teaming arrangements, define resource requirements, and generate strategic plans and programs.

Topics of Interest
Development and application of multi-scale simulation in:

Mechanics
Fluid dynamics
Condensed matter physics
Physical chemistry
Polymer science
Colloid and interfacial science
Meteorology
Drug design
Molecular biology

Organized by
