Under the direction of the Principle Investigator, you will pursue academic research experiments to investigate the genetic and cytogenetic signatures of lymphoid cancers using current cytogenetic and genetic profiling techniques. You will culture, harvest and prepare academic research samples for chromosome and molecular cytogenetic analyses from bone marrow, blood, lymph nodes and solid tumours. Analysis will include the use of karyotyping and multi-colour fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) and advanced molecular cytogenetic techniques will also be required, including: 24 colour FISH, array comparative genomic hybridization (array CGH), and FISH on tissue microarray method. Culture, purification and labeling of DNA probes prepared from BACs, PACs, fosmids, and YACs will also be required, in addition to quality control monitoring on all specimens and analyses.

Dear Sir(s);

sub: Application for the post of Research Assistant-Cytogenetics.

I, M. Govind Pai, have completed M.Sc Human Genetics in June 2006 from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute (INDIA), after a B.Sc Genetics in may 2004 from Bangalore University (INDIA).

Core focus of the M.Sc course was human Cytogenetics, employing peripheral blood lymphocyte cultures, in combination with standard chromosome preparation, banding techniques and FISH for diagnostic and research purposes, since the Department of Human Genetics is a hospital attached set-up.

Post M.Sc, I have undertaken two assignments (roughly six months each) in Bangalore-based Biotech firms namely m/s Bangalore GENEI pvt. ltd and m/s Chromous Biotech pvt. ltd. respectively.

I am herein attaching my resume, towards application for the post of a Research Assistant- Cytogenetics, in response to your advertisement on www.scientistsolutions.com, indicating your requirement of a candidate with cytogenetics background.

I shall be thankful for a line in confirmation indicating suitability of my candidature.

Thanking You,

Yours Sincerely,
M. Govind Pai.

Dear Dr. Morin

I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Tokyo, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Science. I will graduate by September 2008.
I have been a Faculty member in the department of Biology at the Zabol University in Iran for 3 years, and also a researcher in the NRCGEB (National Research center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology) and ABRII (Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran) before coming to Japan. Working in an academic atmosphere has always been my dream and I prefer it to other unrelated and non researching jobs. I have experience in Biosystematics and Cytogenetics as it was my
field of M.Sc. (Biosystematic studies of Brassica spp. in Iran and
cytogenetics of Brassica napus cultivars). Phylogenetic tree of
Brassica spp. using multivariate statistical analysis on Morphological as well as cellular characteristics (such as Meiotic behavior and structural/morphological differences of chromosomes during Mitosis) was my major during M.Sc. I was under supervision of Professor Masoud Sheidai who is the most famous cytogeneticist in Iran. I also had a project of Meiotic behavior of Wheat cultivars of Sistan and Baluchestan province in Iran. In addition, plant functional genomics was one of the main topics in NRCGEB or ABRII (my previous work places), which made me familiar with these area of research too.
I shifted my research area to Molecular Virology after being enrolled at the University of Tokyo. I characterized the genome of a new variant of Soil-borne wheat mosaic virus, resistant in infecting plants (Wheat and Barley) at high temperatures. That is the first report on finding single nucleotide mutation in movement protein gene which is responsible for adaptation of virus to a different condition.
Eleven years in the area of cytogenetics and 5 years in the area of Molecular virology/biology has made me familiar with these areas of research. All of my interaction with staff and students has been positive and this has allowed me to gain more experience and confidence in an academic atmosphere.

I am herein attaching my resume, towards
application for the post of a Research Assistant- Cytogenetics, in response to your advertisement on www.scientistsolutions.com, indicating your requirement of a candidate with cytogenetics background or other possible positions in your lab.

It look forward to hearing from you soon.

Respectfully Yours,
Mohammad reza MANSOURNIA
