Hi everyone!
I've been checking out this site, but there seems to be a significant lack of stuff for those of us who work on model organisms. I work on C. elegans, which has a pretty decent online community already. Nonetheless, creating a forum for things like yeast, flies, worms, Chlamy, Tetrahymena, Sea urchin, etc., might provide an invaluable resource for people interested in dabbling in these systems.
Cheers, Nick

Hi again
Since I'm on my ideas rant --
It would be really cool to have forums for specific areas of research... for those of us who work on specific organelles.
For example, I work on cilia/flagella. There is a shockingly small amount of communication between members of this community, and an online forum might help encourage that.

Dear Ninglis, Thanks for your Ideas, as many we get the better we become. I will pass your ideas to the administartors. Hope to see you on our board. By any chance did you have time to look at our "My bench space" opption. It could also give an answer to your Idea. You can start a small comunity of spesific organelle research. Thanks again Guy

If we made it a forum within a category, which category of our 26 categories would it fit under? Thanks so much for the great feedback!

A good model organism is used because it fits into any number of your categories, unfortunately. But I suppose that the biggest benefit of most model systems is their amenable genetics, so if I had to choose, I guess I'd say genetics.
