Immuno-qPCR hands-on course

12th-15th, December 2006

This training program will be conducted in collaboration with TATAA Biocenter, Sweden.

Our four day course explains the basic knowledge for protein detection through immuno-qPCR. The course consists of a theoretical part and a practical part where participants get to do immuno-qPCR experiments by themselves under experienced supervision. This course offers an explanation, teaches how to use and interpret real-time PCR gene expression data and classify samples based on real-time PCR expression profiling. The course offers a unique opportunity to the participant in working with equipment available in the field. Scientists, Professionals and students are eligible to attend. This is also an excellent opportunity to network with industry experts. Enrollment limited.

Topics:

Basic PCR and qPCR theory and applications
qPCR experiments, Analysis of performed qPCR experiments and data
Optimization experiment and analysis of performed experiments
Primer and probe design and considerations
Optimization of qPCR protocols
qPCR quantification strategies
Normalization of qPCR data
Experiment comparing different quantification strategies
Absolute Quantification strategies
Quantification calculation examples
Principle of RNA and DNA extraction
Principle of RT and different RT priming strategies
Reverse transcription experiment using different priming methods
qPCR experiment evaluating RT using the generated cDNA
SNP detection
Statistical tools for data analysis
Analysis of experimental data
Theoretical background of immuno-qPCR
Examples in application of immuno-qPCR and description of immuno-qPCR technology
