Fluorescent oxytetracycline labeling

This method utilizes the autofluoresence of tetracycline. The tetracycline is incorporated into the bone while it is being formed.

Three days before killing the animal, oxytetracycline
(30 mg/kg/body-weight) (Vetimex, Bladel, Holland)
Should be injected intraperitoneally.
Three historezin sections from each specimens should be examined and photographed
using an inverted microscope with fluorescence optics
(Zeiss ICM405, Oberkochen, Germany).
