QPCR Hands-on Training Program

18th-20th, October 2006

552, Del Rey Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94085

The complete revelation of genome in several species including humans and pathogenic organisms, have been fully sequenced by large with international collaborations. The data available in the public domains opened new possibilities to diagnose diseases and detect pathogens in biological samples. Hence, the molecular diagnostics field is currently growing fast and the market is ahead of all categories. The QPCR technique is very widely used for gene expression analysis in biomedical research and pharmaceutical development helping the detection of nucleic acids with precision. Our three day hands-on training program in quantitative real-time offers researchers, Students and professionals an explanation teaches how to use and interpret real-time PCR gene expression data, and classify samples based on real-time PCR expression profiling. Our training program offers a unique opportunity to the participants to work on equipment available in the field for quantification. The instruments like iQ5, Rotor-Gene 6000 and Mastercycler ep realplex are being used during training. Enrollment limited.

This training program will be conducted in collaboration with TATAA Biocenter, Sweden. TATAA Biocenter offers hands-on training on regular basis in Belgium, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, India, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Canada and US. Further TATAA Biocenter supports QPCR courses organized by the European Molecular Biology Organization, the Federation of European Biochemical Societies, UNESCO, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Swedish Development Cooperation Agency and Pittcon. TATAA Biocenter has trained about 1000 scientists through their programs in QPCR.

Topics:

Day 1- QPCR introduction, assay design and optimization

Day 2- Quantification and Normalization

Day 3- Sample Preparation and Reverse Transcription
