Anna M. Likos, MD, MPH joined the Influenza Division (proposed) as a medical epidemiologist in July, 2005 after completing a two year assignment as an Epidemic Intelligence Officer in the Poxvirus Program. She is board certified in both Preventive Medicine and Internal Medicine, having done residencies at Johns Hopkins and Yale respectively. Her current position in the Influenza Division is focused on the international aspects of influenza, especially Influenza A, H5N1 infections in humans and she has had the opportunity to provide technical assistance to countries in Asia, Eastern Europe and Africa.
Emi Saito, VMD, MSPH is a veterinary epidemiologist with the National Surveillance Unit in the National Center for Animal Health Surveillance, which is a part of the Centers for Epidemiology and Animal Health within the USDA Animal Plant Health & Inspection Service, Veterinary Services. She is stationed at the National Veterinary Services Laboratories in Ames IA, where she works with the USDA laboratories and the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) to develop surveillance plans of animal diseases of agricultural importance and preparation for detecting and responding to new, emerging and foreign animal diseases.
