Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), a Section 25 company, jointly promoted by National Centre For Biological Sciences (NCBS) & Institute of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) under the aegis of Dept of Bio-Technology (DBT) Govt. of India is looking to induct self- driven, highly motivated, pro-active individuals capable of working independently and as part of team, for the following positions.
1. Director, Protein Technology Core Facility (one post)
2. Technology Manager - Biomolecular/Glycome Characterization (one post)
3. Technology Manager- Small molecules/Metabolite Characterization (one post)
Scale of pay and tenure of appointment will be based on merits of the Candidate as well as DBT norms. (For posts 1,2 &3)
Essential Qualifications and experience
1) Position-Director, Protein Technology Core Facility-PhD (Lifesciences) + 5-7 years of Postdoctoral Experience,
C-CAMP is establishing a state-of-the art Protein Technology Core Facility, with a
mandate to provide high-quality cloning, protein expression, and purification services to researchers from academia and industry. For this, we are looking for an ideal candidate to join as the head of the PTC facility. She/He needs to have substantial experience in protein expression and purification for soluble and membrane proteins. A sound understanding of various molecular biology techniques is a must. The candidate needs to have personality to establish a team around her/him within the facility and manage the facility towards high-quality service-oriented work.
The candidate is also expected to be involved in technology and methodology development within the facility for continuous growth of the facility. Previous experience in cloning and expression of proteins, in prokaryotic, eukaryotic and cell free expression systems is essential.
Experience in purification of proteins by state of the art chromatographic methods is also essential. Experience in biophysical characterization of the purified proteins will be an added advantage. Those who have worked in large consortiums and groups and have demonstrated the ability to produce purified proteins for use in various techniques will be given preference.
2) Position - Technology Manager - Biomolecular/Glycome Characterization
Qualification - PhD (Chemistry/lifescience) + 3-5 years of Postdoctoral Experience in Mass Spec related work, with emphasis on glycan analysis.
C-CAMP aims to establish a GLP and NABL compliant protein/peptide characterization facility to provide regulatory standard analytical services to academia and industry. For this facility, we are looking for a suitable individual to functions as Technology Manager. The ideal candidate for the position needs to have in-depth knowledge and experience in Mass Spectrometry based techniques for peptide characterization studies. Additionally, the candidate needs to have thorough knowledge about post translation modification characterization techniques; especially glycosylation modifications and have peer reviewed publications to substantiate the skills. The candidate must also have a good understanding of biophysical characterization techniques for proteins/peptides. The candidate is expected to work with a team of other experts and with a small group. The candidate is also expected to be involved in technology and methodology development within the facility for continuous growth of the facility.
3) Position - Technology Manager - Small molecules/metabolite Characterization
Qualification - PhD (Chemistry/Lifescience) + 3-5 years of Postdoctoral Experience in Mass Spec related work
C-CAMP is establishing a state-of-the art small molecular/metabolites characterization (metabolomics) facility to make available such characterization studies as a service. The ideal candidate needs to have a PhD and at least 4-5 years of postdoctoral experience in Mass Spectrometry technology with a strong chemistry background. In specifics, the candidate should have worked extensively with Mass Spectrometry techniques for small molecule/metabolite characterization and quantification from biological fluids eg. SRM and MRM studies. It is also essential that the candidate possesses working experience and expertise in other techniques like chromatography, peptide purification, labeling and developing derivatization methods to enhance the ionizations in mass spec etc. The candidate is also expected to be involved in technology and methodology development within the facility for continuous growth of the facility.
