Okay, so our Elan 9000 ICPMS had been running fairly smoothly for a while and then 2 weeks ago some of the tubing came undone while I was running a batch. I changed out the tubing and then went to run a Daily Performance check, which consists of the Autolens, Mass Calibration, and Daily Performance optimizations... For some reason the machine is not getting good data for the autolens optimization. I tried increasing and decreasing the range over which it is testing, I've cleaned the intro system with 3% nitric for an hour followed by 1% nitric for 30 mins, and it is still not giving good results... I'm not sure if I need to take the machine apart and clean something or if there is possibly a setting error or what is going on. It should be noted that about a week before this problem, our background counts were high so I removed the barrel lens, shadow stop, and differential pressure aperture (DPA) and cleaned and reinstalled them, which fixed the background counts. I'm not sure if this might have affected the autolens or what? Should I do a full optimization and see if that helps? Really at a loss here and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
