 Hello

During the start up the coolent flow says low and the vacuum gage says fault.  I can reset alarm . The rough pre turbo pump starts and can run until turbo starts. Typically runs for 15 min to 1 hr.  fault displays in service mode of 24v power supply fail call for service .
We have no internal cooling fan and we lost our external exhaust during a run prior to this fault.

RB,

We had a loss of exhaust air during a run. Our elan is in a small room and has an external exhaust. The 24v power supply module 4 was dropping off to 14v anywhere from 15min to 1.5hr into a good startup/cal ,after the failure. Further troubleshooting, found the power supply to have bad internal exhaust fans so the supply was at the end of the road. The new part is 6K. The loss of cooling pushed it over the cliff. The service mode diagnostics were correct. 24v power supply failure.

As far as power input problems we do have that potential so I have recommended placing some automation, monitoring and add a MVC non grounded surge suppressor. The money people are reluctant to add new tech to a lab that has only recently began to modernize.

Im new to indoor lab previously field engineer, I appreciate the response and will share my lessons learned to help others. I appreciate the forum since instrument manufacturers seem to fear the disclosure of service manuals.

We will see by tomorrow if there is further damage,  take care

Andrew
