The Center for Cooperative Research in Biosciences (CIC bioGUNE) is a non-profit organization created to promote scientific research and technological innovation at the highest level in the Basque Country. Established by the Department of Industry, Technology and Innovation of the Government of the Autonomous Community in the Basque Country, CIC bioGUNE conducts research in the areas of Metabolomics,
Proteomics,
Genomics, Cellular and Structural
Biology. The Structural
Biology Unit, inaugurated in 2007, is recipient of an outstanding set of equipments including two transmission electron microscopes (JEM- 2200FS/CR and JEM-1230 from JEOL), two high field
NMR magnets (800 MHz equipped
with a cryoprobe and a 600 MHz from Bruker) and an
X-ray crystallography platform (X8- PROTEUM system from Bruker). Further information about the facility equipment and the scientific activities of the research laboratories can be found at

Biology Unit.
The Centre is now looking for:
Principal Investigator in
Electron Microscopy of biomolecules. Experts in cryoelectron
microscopy of macromolecules, cryo-electron tomography of biological samples and/or development of
image processing tools are welcome to apply.
Principal Investigator in
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy. Experts working on all areas of biomolecular
NMR spectroscopy, including liquid and solid state
NMR of biological samples and
NMR applications to metabonomics are welcome to apply.
Candidates should hold a
Ph. D., have extensive post-doctoral experience in the abovementioned areas and show an established record of publications and strong leadership. The appointed candidates are expected to be capable to set up their own research groups, to raise external
funding and to collaborate with other research groups. A comprehensive start-up package based on appointment level will be provided. Support includes, but is not limited to, a modern laboratory and office space, access to facilities time and salary support for
Ph. D. students, postdoctorals and technicians. CIC bioGUNE offers competitive salary.
