Is there a secret to silver staining frozen mouse brain tissue? We are using the Bielschowsky's silver staining method, and while the paraffin contol tissue works fine, the frozen tissue won't take up the stain. The frozen tissue either was fixed in 4 degree C 100% acetone, or formalin @ RT, for 7 minutes or not fixed at all and immersed in dH2O.
