31st Annual International Herpesvirus Workshop
Saturday, July 22 - Friday, July 28, 2006
Seattle, Washington USA

Please join us at the thirty-first International Herpesvirus Workshop (IHW) to be held at The University of Washington in Seattle, July 22-28, 2006. The International Herpesvirus Workshop is the premier scientific meeting for herpesvirus researchers from around the world. The latest discoveries in areas ranging from virion structure and genomics to disease pathogenesis and therapy will be presented.

The University of Washington is an ideal venue for the meeting, only 10 minutes away from downtown Seattle and 20 minutes away from Sea-Tac International Airport. Although Seattle is known for rain during the winter months, the summers are spectacular! The surrounding Cascade and Olympic Mountains (which include at least one active volcano), Puget Sound, and Lake Washington, coupled with long warm summer days and cool evenings provide a magnificent natural setting. Housing options on and off campus will be available, all within walking distance of the meeting venue.

Our Tuesday afternoon excursions and Thursday Banquet will provide opportunities to explore and experience the Seattle area first hand. Downtown Seattle features a scenic waterfront, Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square, Seattle Center, and Belltown, offering abundant opportunities for activities during free time before, during or after the meeting.

This group from London presented the VIDA database which I found is very helpful.
