It is quite an urgent issue; I need the picture for my poster presention, which has to be ready by Friday.

Thanks,

What kind of image are you looking for?

A representation based on structural data, a "cartoon", or or a pathway?

For a pathway consider figure one from:
http://www.tbiomed.com/content/1/1/2

This image and caption are available for use under the terms of the Biomedcentral open access license, which is identical to the Creative Commons Attribution Licence, in summary this means you are free to use the work as long as you credit the original author and you make clear what licence terms the work is released under.
The image is available in a high resolution format.

Structural data is available for the individual domains, but not the totality of the molecule, how the individual domains fit together can be seen in figure four of:
http://www.biochemsoctrans.org/bst/027/0715/bst0270715.htm

The structures of the indivudal domains are available from:
http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/ where you will also find links to software you can used to generate images from the data.

The Sanger Center in the UK has an excellent illustrated resource on the function of the insulin receptor - and the images, (cartoons and secondary structure representations) are licenced under a creative commons licence

Try

though it is a PDF file, if you like them, you can draw them with any drawing software fast. Hope it helps

The author of the paper from which the images in the lectures linked to above has written a review which is illustrated with a number of excellent images which might be useful:
http://www.jbc.org/cgi/content/full/278/30/27329

You can probably use the images for free, as the JBC grants permission for quite a broad range of use without charge.

thankyou!

my presentation was ok; still, I used the picture of the receptor from "Harper's Biocheistry"

thanks anyway! ;-)
