A platinum based drug was developed 15 years ago and used to treat colon cancer. Satraplatin, cisplatin, carboplatin are among the most active chemotherapeutic agents available. There is a book called: platinum based drugs inn cancer therapy by Lloyd R. Kelland and Nicholas Farrell publisher Humana press. www.humanapress.com

Just a note of interest I am aware of gene research being conducted which shows that every type of cancer requires a specific drug so currently the race is on to map all types of cancers so that drugs can be tailored to each cancer thus making cancer treatment 100% effective. This is why cancer drugs work on some people but not all. It's a bit like the doctor saying you have influenza...ok but which strain?! The research from memory was being done in Norway but I cant remember who's doing it.
