Has anyone done work on Glucagon (peptide-activated) GPCR?

I need information to do a comparison or show difference with Beta adrenergic receptor.

If yes, please enlighten me on the molecular and signaling pathways differences with the already known beta-adreno receptors. The likehood of them being similar is very high since both are classified with the 7TM GPCR superfamily.

thanks

I'm not an expert on glucagon receptor, but I would like to warn you on searching similarity. I mean, they share the topology and general functioning with Gprotein, but that does not indicate they are similar for molecular and signaling functions.
Just consider the superfamily subclassification:
- betaAR belongs to the rhodopsin subclass that includes the the vast majority of seven-transmembrane domain
- the glucagon receptor family belongs to the second largest subclass, which is the secretin receptor subclass, comprising receptors for calcitonins, CGRP, corticotropin-releasing factor gastric inhibitory peptide, glucagon, glucagon-like peptide, growth hormone-releasing factor, PACAP, parathyroid hormone, secretin, vasoactive intestinal peptide and the lid-and-pot receptors)
Furthermore, consider that from the structural viewpoint, rhodopsin class is not homogeneous (think about the particular functioning of thrombin and other PAR receptors).
I hope this will be of help.
However, look at http://www.iuphar-db.org/GPCR/ChapterMenuForward?chapterID=1286 just to compare the information available for both family of receptors of your interest.
Good luck, Val
