I have tried to work out the western blotting assays for EAAT-1, -2 and -3 using Chemicon Abs but they did not work very well... now it even seems to me that any previously published gel is not REALLY nice. Is actually somebody able to get a nice immunoreactivity for EAATs? Is there any specific problem that I must address? Thanks.

Are you staining for Mouse, Rat or human EAATs?
Have you asked Jeff D Rothstein for samples of any of his antibodies (Department of Neurology, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD 21287, USA)?
Search Pubmed for Rothstein JD to get many papers with EAAT immunoprobing.

Suggest look at the papers by Pow DV who has some nice antibodies to all the EAATs including splice variants. There is a company (immunosolution.com) that sells some of them (I think)

PS see the EAATs website at www.eaats.org as it has some nice images of EAATs immunocytochemistry including human.
