Viruses are often associated with autoimmune diseases, but no firm, direct proof for the role of viruses as inducers, accelerators or terminators of human autoimmune diseases has been demonstrated yet. Which statement do you relate to most?

The above statement may not be true as some "autoimmune" phenomena (for example glomerulonephritis in patients with hepatitis C) resolve with specific therapy of the virus. That is, no virus, no autoimmunity. This article (http://www.virologyj.com/content/2/1/70) may be of general interest as it suggests that diabetes and many other autoimmune diseases may be caused by viruses. The author is not original in suggesting this, as for a long time, Juvenile onset diabetes (type 1) has been linked to coxsackie viral infections but he is presenting a different mechanism of how viruses may cause damage to the pancreas and prevent insulin acting (as in type II diabetes). Very interesting!! Now, if viruses can cause diabetes, it opens up the possibility of vaccines to either prevent or treat diabetes. Wouldn't that be something!!?

if diabetes is caused by a virus and vaccines help to kill viruses, what happens if the vaccine contains a live virus that can reinfect by way of recombining and thus lead to a cycle where diabetes comes about anyway. Better to rid a person of toxemia which causes virus infections in the first place. This then leads me to propose that vaccines dont work and this is considering the long term dna damage that may not be evident until the next generation is born. The big question is what causes toxemia and until that is addressed there will forever be infections and diseases.
