Has anyone worked with in vivo electroporation of skeletal muscle with DNA? We observe an infiltration of cytokines and macrophages when this is done. However, with no DNA controls (electroporation only) we do not see this phenomenom. Any guesses as to why?
How quickly are you observing this immune response?DNA alone and in particular DNA originating from bacteria containing CpG stimulatory sequences or viral DNA can induce a strong immune response on its own.
