Can anyone help me figure out how to put a ^ on an N, to create the n-hat symbol for population size estimate.?

Whaleworker,

In Microsoft Word 2007 and you can use the Equation editor . 

1.Basically type a N, then click on INSERT and pullup the tool bar. 

2.Next click on SYMBOLS then Equation with the larger pi over it.

3. Next click on Equations 

4. Then ACCENT

5. Then click on the top right box to put a hat over the N

 

Im sure older version of Word have the similar deal, I just havent used them in a while.
