The 97th Indian Science Congress will be held here from January 3 to 7 next year (2010) with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the University of Kerala co-hosting the event. Eighteen functional committees have been formed for the conduct of the event.

The first Indian Science Congress was held in 1914 at Kolkata (then Calcutta). The 34th Science Congress was held in 1947 with the country's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru as its General President. This is the first time that the Kerala capital is hosting the event.

Oh that's a good news Monu, we might expect Sunita William and prof. Yash Paul (both big faces in their fields)  visiting there. Indeed it would be great to participate. and that too in beautiful unique Kerala.
