ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Investigates, creates, designs and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement in collaboration with supervisor
- Provides input for selection of assay types
- Executes medium to high throughput enzyme activity or ligand-binding screening to identify 'hit' compounds
- Conducts weekly SAR assays to support lead optimization efforts for ongoing drug discovery projects
- With minimal guidance, develops, validates and implements in vitro enzyme activity or ligand binding assays to determine mechanism of action for small molecule activity modulators
- Reproduces published enzyme pharmacology procedures.
- Prepares written and oral reports of work
- May act as responsible investigator in conducting own experiments
- Maintains lab equipment and supplies as needed
- Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses
- Contributes to the design, execution and interpretation of experiments
- May assist in training lower level staff members

- Identifies moderately complex obstacles to progress and recommends solutions (troubleshoots) using a limited set of resources; identifies and recommends innovative methodologies to research efforts
