ACCOUNTABILITIES: 
  • Investigates, creates, designs and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement in collaboration with supervisor
  • Provides input for selection of assay types
  • Executes medium to high throughput enzyme activity or ligand-binding screening to identify 'hit' compounds
  • Conducts weekly SAR assays to support lead optimization efforts for ongoing drug discovery projects
  • With minimal guidance, develops, validates and implements in vitro enzyme activity or ligand binding assays to determine mechanism of action for small molecule activity modulators
  • Reproduces published enzyme pharmacology procedures.
  • Prepares written and oral reports of work 
  • May act as responsible investigator in conducting own experiments
  • Maintains lab equipment and supplies as needed
  • Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses
  • Contributes to the design, execution and interpretation of experiments
  • May assist in training lower level staff members

  • Maintains a safe and organized lab bench
  • Communicates with colleagues effectively
  • May present data to cross-functional project team; may present data/posters to external research or scientific community
  • Performs medium to high throughput enzyme techniques and experiments using sound scientific methods; conducts analysis of results and participates in the drawing of conclusions; consults with other research staff to refine or adapt methodology to fit research requirements
  • With minimal guidance, plans and executes experiments with appropriate controls after discussion of minimal outline
  • Manages a number of tasks and techniques through to completion with quality results
  • Identifies moderately complex obstacles to progress and recommends solutions (troubleshoots) using a limited set of resources; identifies and recommends innovative methodologies to research efforts
    Performs as a role model supporting Takeda culture and follows policies; participates on cross-functional teams; may lead a specific initiative with a defined outcome
