 Other than funding issues, which is another topic for another day, have you ever had your research altered or hindered by a government agency or representative?

I've heard anecdotal stories of interference (in the media) during the Bush administration here in the USA, but it seemed to apply almost entirely of those scientists working in government labs.  Not that that excuses it.  Any first-hand accounts out there?
