Lately I have been having problems working with HgCl2 that has not been freshly prepared (prepared the day before). I have been dissolving the HgCl2 powder (from Sigma) in sterilized water and storing it at 4 degrees Celsius. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or a better way to prepare and store HgCl2? Any help would be great! Thanks.
