A lot of work has been done mostly in Europe to find tools for medicinal chemist. For e.g. a company in UK called: Paradigm Therapeutics is exploring the use of silicon to replace carbon in drug design in case the presence of silicone can improve the drugs properties. There are many silicon switch opportunities in the literature, involving some important targets such as GPCRs, ion channels and kinases. Anyone has experience in this or any recent publications you could refer to?
